The TPO Foundation carried out the “16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women” campaign at the Faculty of Security Studies at the University of Banja Luka, as part of the UNIGEM project.
On December 2, 2024, a lecture/workshop on the topic “Violence Against Women – Forms and (Criminal) Legal Protection” was organized. Under the mentorship of professors Dragana Vasiljević and Žana Vrućinić, students successfully defined the concept of violence against women from both a criminal-legal and psychological perspective. They learned to recognize the various forms of violence against women, understand the causes of this type of violence, identify the profiles of both victims and perpetrators, and recognize the consequences of violence against women from multiple aspects.
As the second activity of the campaign, on December 10, 2024, Željka Mileusnić, Assistant Commander for Legal Work at the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS, held a lecture/workshop on the topic “The Importance of the Women’s Network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS (RS WPON) in Strengthening the Role of Women in the Security Sector and Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence.”
During this session, students received information on the mission, vision, and activities of the Women’s Network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS (RS WPON) related to strengthening the role of women in the security sector, as well as preventing and combating domestic violence and other forms of violence against marginalized groups. Additionally, students had the opportunity to learn about the importance of implementing legal instruments such as risk assessments, urgent protection measures, and protective measures.
