16 days of activism: Activities at the University of Donja Gorica (UDG)

The University of Donja Gorica (UDG), an institutional partner of the UNIGEM project, which the TPO Foundation from Sarajevo is implementing with 18 other institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia with the support of the United Kingdom Government with the aim of equipping higher education and establishing mechanisms for gender equality at faculties, organized a series of activities as part of the “16 Days of Activism for Gender Equality” campaign.

The marking of the Campaign began on November 25th, 2022, on the International Day against Violence against Women, with the promotion of the UNIGEM research publication “Challenges of integrating gender equality in the university community: Against gender-based violence” edited by prof. Ph.D. Zilka Spahić-Šiljak, prof. Ph.D. Jasna Kovačević and prof. Ph.D. Jasmina Husanović. It is the first regional research on gender-based violence in academic communities, conducted at 18 partner institutions of the UNIGEM project, presented in 12 chapters of a studious, comprehensive, and analytical publication that is at the same time a practical platform for institutional and normative regulation of gender equality and gender-based violence. The publication was presented by members of the Advisory Board of the Office for Gender Equality at UDG, prof. Ph.D. Nela Milošević, Ph.D. Milica Kovač Orlandić, Ph.D. Ivan Jovetić and Ph.D. Nikoleta Đukanović.

Students of the Faculty of Design and Multimedia UDG, headed by the dean prof. Ph.D. Tatjana Burzanović, created and organized the ceremonial opening of the exhibition of works on December 1st, 2022 on the topics of gender-based violence in education and the fight against violence against women. Students, teaching staff, and other interested parties could see the exhibition in the faculty hall until the end of the campaign, and its short insert is available for viewing in the gallery.
